The National Prisoners Affairs Committee condemned the Saudi enemy mercenaries in Taiz for committing a heinous crime against the body of a Yemeni armed forces martyr.
In a statement, the committee said the mercenaries stripped the martyr’s body, exposed it, filmed the act and circulated the footage, boasting about their crime. It said the act shocked Yemenis and observers across the Arab and Islamic world.
The committee said the crime reflects an extremist culture alien to Yemeni customs, values and traditions, which it accused Saudi enemy of promoting among criminal militias.
It stressed that the crime does not represent the Yemeni people or the people of Taiz, describing it as a reflection of an extremist approach that targets the dignity and rights of those who oppose it.
The committee held Saudi enemy morally and legally responsible for the crime and similar violations against prisoners since the start of the war in 2015, stressing that the crime would not be subject to a statute of limitations.
It called on security , judicial authorities to identify , prosecute those responsible , urged Yemeni tribes, dignitaries and the public to condemn the crime.
The committee also called on local and international organizations to condemn the crime and pursue those responsible.
