Protest held at site of Israeli aggression on 26 September & Al-Yemen Newspapers

A protest was held today at the site of the Israeli attack on the 26 September and Al-Yemen newspapers in Al-Tahrir neighborhood, Sana’a, condemning last Wednesday’s massacre that killed and injured dozens of journalists, staff, and civilians.

Participants, including leadership and staff from the Ministry of Information and its affiliated media institutions, denounced the Israeli entity’s continued targeting of civilian sites, in violation of international and humanitarian law. They highlighted the destruction of the two newspaper headquarters, nearby homes, and the National Museum in the densely populated district.

Deputy Minister of Information, Dr. Omar Al-Bukhaiti, extended condolences for the journalists and media staff who were killed and injured while fulfilling their duty of conveying truthful reporting against Zionist propaganda. Speaking from the destroyed site, he stressed that this crime against journalists and civilians amounts to genocide, emphasizing that they were targeted simply for exposing the crimes and violations of global Zionism, particularly in Gaza.

He noted that the targeting of media institutions will not deter national media outlets from continuing their role in revealing the ugly face of the Israeli entity, pointing out that nearly 30 journalists—armed only with pens, cameras, and microphones—had been targeted.

Al-Bukhaiti reaffirmed that the Ministry of Information and its institutions remain committed to the path of the martyrs in confronting the enemy’s propaganda strategy.

For his part, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information for External Relations and Media, Mohammed Mansour, reiterated Yemen’s firm support for Gaza and Palestine. He stressed that jihad and sacrifice remain central to defeating the enemy’s schemes, echoing the words of Revolutionary Leader Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr Al-Din Al-Houthi.

Mansour called on journalists across Arab and Islamic countries to break their silence and complicity, warning that remaining passive not only undermines their professionalism but also diminishes their humanity. He urged foreign correspondents to convey the reality of Yemeni resilience and sacrifices to the wider world.
