Researcher: Settlement Legalization Reflects Israeli Enemy’s Inclination to Control

Dr. Abdul Nasser Makki, a researcher specializing in settlement and Jordan Valley affairs, stated that the Israeli government’s legalization of 19 new settlements in the occupied West Bank, along with statements by the criminal Zionist minister Bezalel Smotrich regarding the intention to legalize 69 settlements over the next three years, reflect the entity’s intention to regain control over settlements, some of which were evacuated in 2005.

Makki explained to the Palestinian news agency Shihab on Monday that this step aims to impose Israeli control over all of Area C, paving the way for its de facto annexation, he pointed out that the establishment of more settlements, which now number over 300, in addition to dozens of outposts, represents a serious challenge to the establishment of a Palestinian state.
