Palestinian resistance factions Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) praised the support fronts in Yemen, Lebanon, Iran, and Iraq, considering their support for the Palestinian people and their resistance an embodiment of Arab and Islamic solidarity and a tribute to the martyrs who fell in defense of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
In a joint statement following the announcement of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement, the factions affirmed their absolute rejection of any foreign tutelage over Gaza, emphasizing that the administration of the Strip is an internal Palestinian affair, while welcoming Arab and international support for reconstruction and development.
The factions considered the agreement a result of the steadfastness of the people and the resistance, and called for a comprehensive national meeting to unify the Palestinian ranks and develop a common strategy. They also expressed their commitment to the release of all prisoners and to continuing responsible negotiations despite the occupation’s attempts to obstruct the process.
The statement emphasized that the scenes of the displaced returning to Gaza represent a victory for the will to persevere in the face of displacement attempts, praising the steadfastness of the resistance and the performance of medical, humanitarian, and media personnel.
The factions concluded their statement by renewing their pledge to continue the resistance until the full realization of national rights, foremost among them the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
