Revolution Leader: Our People Will Not Accept Continuation of American-Saudi Aggression, Occupation, & Blockade
The Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, affirmed that the Yemeni people will act within the framework of the right stance, the just cause, and the clear oppression, and will not accept the continuation of American-Saudi aggression, occupation, and blockade on the country.
In a speech delivered this afternoon, as part of the rallies commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), the Leader said: “We affirm that as a Yemeni people, we will not accept the continuation of American-Saudi aggression, occupation, and blockade on our country. We will act within the framework of our right stance, our just cause, and our clear oppression to be freed from it by all legitimate means, so that our dear people may enjoy full freedom, complete independence, live with dignity, and restore their national wealth and all their legitimate rights.”
He praised the widespread popular movement and the large tribal rallies affirming that, calling on the sons of the Yemeni people to close ranks, maintain the internal front and its cohesion, the spirit of general mobilization, cooperation in righteousness and piety, and to continue with activity and attention to social initiatives and utmost care for military courses and general mobilization.
The Revolution Leader renewed his affirmation of the Yemeni people’s steadfastness in their faith-based, liberationist, and jihadist path, and their Quranic stance against the enemies of Islam and Muslims, foremost “America and Israel,” stemming from their faith identity and Quranic journey.
He also affirmed the Yemeni people’s commitment to the nation’s major causes, foremost the Palestinian cause, with all that it entails of people, land, and sanctities.
He congratulated the Islamic Republic of Iran on the occasion of its great victory over the enemies of the nation, “America and Israel,” a significant victory for the entire Axis of Jihad, Resistance, and Jerusalem in an important round of confrontation between the nation and the arrogant enemies.
He said: “We are in continuous coordination with our brothers in the Axis of Jihad and Resistance regarding any new round, and we will not hesitate to perform our Islamic duty of jihad for the sake of God and confronting the enemies of the nation in any new aggressive escalation they undertake in any arena of confrontation, foremost Gaza.”
He added: “We are closely monitoring developments in Somalia and what the Israeli enemy seeks to turn it into a foothold to control the Gulf of Aden, Bab al-Mandab, and the Red Sea. While we urge the Islamic nation in general and the countries bordering the Red Sea in particular to take a joint stance to prevent the Israeli enemy from doing so, we affirm that we will not stand idly by regarding any Israeli positioning in Somalia, nor will we wait for the negligent and derelict regimes to move. Rather, we will take the initiative at any time the Israeli enemy establishes any position there, targeting it by all available means.”
The Leader called on the Islamic nation and its governments to work on reforming the situation in Somalia, extinguishing the fires of strife there, caring for the brotherly Somali people, and supporting them against Israeli targeting, which constitutes a major violation of Somalia’s sovereignty and a great danger to the Islamic nation and its countries.
He noted that the Islamic nation, in facing the tyrant of the age and the leaders of disbelief, “America and Israel,” and those who ally with them and revolve in their orbit, draws its determination from faith, illuminates itself with the light of the Quran, and draws inspiration from the grandson of the Messenger of God (peace be upon him), Imam Hussein, for steadfastness in the face of tyranny, no matter the level of sacrifices for the sake of God.
He explained that the satanic goals of the leaders of disbelief, “America and Israel,” and the Jews with their corrupt Zionist movement and practices, in what they have done to the oppressed Palestinian people, the peoples of the Islamic nation, and other parts of the world, show that they are absolute evil and a danger to the Islamic nation and all human societies, adding: “There is no salvation from Satan’s group except by confronting their tyranny, and the nation’s responsibility is jihad, enjoining good, and forbidding evil.”
The Revolution Leader began his speech by speaking about Imam Hussein bin Ali (peace be upon them both), saying: “The great tragedy and immense catastrophe occurred when the group of hypocrisy and evil that turned against Islam, led by the tyrants of the Umayyads, committed the heinous crime of killing the grandson of the Messenger of God (peace be upon him), his genuine extension in guiding the nation, of whom the Messenger (peace be upon him) said: ‘Hussein is from me and I am from Hussein… God loves whoever loves Hussein. Hussein is a grandson among grandsons.'”
He added: “The group of evil and tyranny, and the movement of hypocrisy that, as a result of horrific deviation, had managed to seize the reins of the nation’s affairs, carried out his killing. They employed all the capabilities of the Islamic state to achieve their satanic goals, distort the concepts of Islam, corrupt Muslim society, enslave it, and exploit the wealth of the Islamic nation, both to strengthen the satanic group’s control and to indulge in its luxury, corruption, and debauchery.”
He continued: “What the Messenger of God (peace be upon him) had warned the Islamic nation about became manifest—that if the Umayyad tyrants managed to take control, the result would be that they would take God’s religion as a trick, His servants as slaves, and His wealth as spoils. Evil escalated and the danger to Islam and Muslims grew with the empowerment of the accursed tyrant Yazid bin Muawiya, who was appointed ruler over the Muslims, being the complete opposite of Islam.”
The Leader stated that the tyrant Yazid openly displayed his contempt for Islam, his hatred of the Messenger of God (peace be upon him), his denial of the revelation to the Messenger, and the message, and openly declared immorality, debauchery, and violations of sanctities with complete audacity and impudence.
He continued: “He saw no one in the Muslims but his slaves. The danger was to the extent that Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) said: ‘Peace be upon Islam, for the nation has been afflicted with a ruler like Yazid.’ He, may God curse him, sought to consolidate his control over the Islamic nation and remove any obstacle hindering that.”
He added: “He saw in the grandson of the Messenger of God, Imam Hussein, the greatest obstacle, because of what he represented as an extension of the authentic Islamic path, an extension of the role, status, and responsibility of guiding the nation and leading it on the straight path. Yazid also saw in Hussein and the remaining members of the Prophet’s household the object of his vengeance and retribution against the Messenger of God, settling scores for the slain of the Battle of Badr from the stubborn pagans—his ancestors who carried the banner of polytheism and fell fighting Islam, as Yazid himself declared in famous verses of poetry.”
The Leader pointed to Yazid’s attempt to silence Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), demanding his allegiance through the governor over Medina and insisting that the Imam be killed if he did not pledge allegiance.
He noted that Imam Hussein moved to rescue the Muslims from the dark, criminal tyrant and the claws of paganism that had donned the garment of hypocrisy to deceive the Islamic nation, seeking to empty Islam of its great content and distort its concepts to enslave Muslims and monopolize all its capabilities.
He affirmed that Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) was keen to leave Mecca when he realized the Umayyad tyrants’ intention to target him and violate the sanctity of the Sacred House, heading towards Iraq with his family and those who responded to him—a small number against the many who were negligent.
The Leader stated that the Umayyad coup’s impact on Islam and the deviation in the nation’s reality, which brought the criminal tyrant Yazid—may God curse him—to power, was extremely dangerous for the Islamic nation’s clear regression from the spirit of Islam.
He said: “When the forces of hypocrisy and the group of evil and tyranny moved to target Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), they targeted the authenticity of Islam and the truth for which Hussein stood, seeking to prevent him from rescuing the nation from the shackles of tyranny and the state of enslavement and degradation.”
He added: “Those forces of tyranny managed to mobilize thousands to support falsehood and serve the tyrant, while many failed to support the clear truth, knowing who Hussein was, his cause, and his goals (peace be upon him). Therefore, he addressed his small group of companions who stood firm with him and moved to perform the sacred duty. The enemy’s army met him, and the vanguard of the Umayyad-Yazidi army arrived to fight him, so he praised God and gave thanks.”
He continued: “Then Imam Hussein said: ‘Indeed, the matter has come to what you see. The world has changed and become unrecognizable, and its good has turned away. Do you not see that truth is not acted upon and falsehood is not forbidden? Let the believer desire to meet God as a truth-seeker. For I see death only as happiness, and life with the oppressors only as boredom.'”
The Leader noted that the enemy armies, numbering thousands, surrounded the grandson of the Messenger of God (peace be upon him) in the land of Karbala with his family and companions—who were in the dozens—on the tenth day of Muharram in the year 61 AH. The enemies, “Yazid and Ibn Ziyad,” offered him the choice between surrender or death, and his decisive stance embodied the dignity of faith with all pride and steadfastness.
The Leader continued his account of Imam Hussein’s famous stance, quoting his well-known statement: “Truly, the son of the illegitimate one has placed two options before us: between humiliation and death. And abasement is beneath us! God, His Messenger, and the believers refuse that for us.”
He affirmed that history has recorded the unparalleled details of steadfastness, devotion, and great sacrifices of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), his family, and his loyal supporters on the day of Ashura on the land of Karbala, with all that it embodied of the great embodiment of Islamic values, ethics, and pillars at the highest level.
He explained that history also recorded the details of the horrific crimes committed by the Umayyad-Yazidi army of tyranny in the Battle of Karbala—the brutal practices that defy all human values, even at their lowest levels, presenting a dark, ugly picture at the worst and most hideous level, revealing the truth of the Umayyad-Yazidi falsehood, its ugliness, and criminality, and exposing the group of hypocrisy to the nation.
The Revolution Leader spoke of what Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) offered—his great efforts in service of Islam, his clarification, knowledge, sacrifices, and giving, and what he embodied of principles and values with his great oppression. It was an extension of Islam in its authenticity and purity, a light for generations, an inspiration for all free people, and an eternal school whose students in every era are those who carry light in their hearts, the banners of Islam in their hands, the stance of truth in their movement, the dignity of faith in their steadfastness, and human dignity in their refusal.
