Revolution Leader: Yemenis lead Muslim Nations in commemorating Prophet’s birthday
In a speech this afternoon marking the 1448 AH anniversary, delivered before the massive crowds gathered at Al-Sabeen Square in the capital Sana’a and in celebration squares across the provinces, Sayyed al-Houthi said: “Blessings to you, our dear people, and to the entire Muslim nation on this glorious occasion, the blessed anniversary of the birth of the Seal of the Prophets and Master of the Messengers, Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Abdul-Muttalib ibn Hashim, peace and blessings be upon him and his family.”
He affirmed that the Yemeni people, the “people of faith, wisdom and jihad,” are at the forefront of Muslim nations in commemorating the Prophet’s Birthday, honoring Allah’s rites, rejoicing in His grace, venerating the Messenger of Allah, strengthening their faith-based identity , affiliation, recalling the Prophet’s life , example to draw lessons from his guidance and leadership.
Sayyed al-Houthi explained that the Prophet’s Birthday has attained the highest status among all occasions for the Yemeni people, who commemorate it through celebrations and various activities as an expression of gratitude for Allah’s blessings and grace.
He added that, within the framework of the Yemeni people’s faith-based and liberation-oriented outlook, and their efforts to build a civilizational model guided by the Holy Quran and divine teachings, the occasion has become an annual season for strengthening faith , moral values, raising awareness and insight, and reinforcing determination to remain steadfast on the path of truth while confronting challenges and risks.
He said the massive popular participation in the Prophet’s Birthday celebrations in Yemen of faith is unparalleled anywhere in the world, describing it as a manifestation of the Prophetic saying, “Faith is Yemeni and wisdom is Yemeni,” as well as a manifestation of piety, in accordance with the Quranic verse: “And whoever honors the symbols of Allah—indeed, it is from the piety of hearts.”
He noted that the occasion is linked to the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of His Prophets, reminding Muslims of the divine message , its immense significance and blessings. He stressed that the Muslim nation is in urgent need of reassessing its reality and strengthening its conscious spiritual connection with the divine message as a way of life, with the Prophet as an example, leader, guide and role model.
The Revolution Leader stressed the Muslim nation’s need to seek liberation from all forms of dependence on what he described as “dark , corrupt forces that spread corruption on earth , deviate from Allah’s message,” led by Jews and represented in the present era by the Zionist movement and its supporters in the West.
He said these forces pursue what he described as “satanic objectives” and wage brutal criminal campaigns targeting the Muslim nation, seeking to control its peoples, enslave , humiliate them, occupy their countries and plunder their resources.
He further stated that the “dark, oppressive and criminal forces of tyranny,” foremost among them the United States and Israel, have become increasingly exposed before Muslim peoples and the world at large for their tyranny, crimes, injustice, brutality , abandonment of innate moral and ethical values, describing them as an extension of those who deviated from the divine message given to Moses and Jesus, peace be upon them.
He went on to say: “On this blessed occasion, we remind ourselves and our nation of the immense blessing Allah has bestowed upon us through His Messenger, His message, His Book, and the true religion of Islam—the great blessing through which He saved us from the darkness, impurity, corruption, and misguidance of the Age of Ignorance. It is the blessing that transformed primitive, unlettered people lost in confusion into a great nation moving with a divine message , carrying the most sacred purpose , greatest banner, under the leadership of the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers, Muhammad, peace , blessings be upon him and his family. It brought them from a state of ignorance and primitiveness to the knowledge contained in the Holy Quran, the Glorious Book of Alllah, its light , great guidance, to purification through noble character and spiritual elevation.”
Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi reviewed the state of the nation before the mission of the final Prophet, Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, when the darkness of the Age of Ignorance had prevailed over human societies as a result of people’s deviation from Allah’s message, distortion of its teachings , knowledge, and abandonment of its guidance.
He said: “During the period extending from after the time of Jesus Christ, peace be upon him, until the birth of the Seal of the Prophets, Muhammad, peace , blessings be upon him and his family, the People of the Book—the Jews and Christians—had, over time, increasingly deviated from Allah’s message, violated His teachings, and distorted His Books. They became misguided and misleading, corrupt , oppressive, and aligned themselves with tyranny.”
He noted that upright examples during that period were rare and isolated from positions of influence, while other pagan societies were in manifest error, as was the case with the Arabs at the time. He pointed out that under such circumstances, evil intensified, tyranny grew, corruption spread, injustice became widespread, goodness diminished, and innate values declined. Human reality became tragic and catastrophic, humanity was in greatest need of a divine savior to restore its dignity, illuminate its path with the light of Allah, and guide it to the straight path.
The Revolution Leader noted that among the greatest signs heralding the birth of the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, was the extraordinary destruction of the People of the Elephant, the army aligned with the Romans that sought to invade Mecca, destroy the Holy Kaaba, and prevent the coming of salvation.
He said: “When signs, indications, and glad tidings pointed to the approaching birth of the Seal of the Prophets, as well as the approaching time of relief and salvation for humanity, Abraha’s army advanced with forces and capabilities that frightened and intimidated the Arabs, who dared not confront it despite the sacred status the Kaaba held in their hearts. When the army approached Mecca, Allah sent against them flocks of birds, as stated by the Almighty: ‘striking them with stones of baked clay,’ and He made them ‘like eaten straw.’”
He added: “In that year, known as the Year of the Elephant, during the month of Rabi’ al-Awwal, the Seal of the Prophets and Master of the Messengers, Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Abdul-Muttalib ibn Hashim, was born. He was a descendant of Allah’s Prophet Ishmael, son of Abraham, peace be upon them both. Thus, the supplication of the Prophet of God Abraham and his son Ishmael, peace be upon them, was fulfilled. Their prayer included glad tidings of the coming of this blessed child in a later era, as Allah Almighty recounts their supplication while they were building the Holy Kaaba: ‘Our Lord, and send among them a messenger from them who will recite to them Your verses, teach them the Book , wisdom, and purify them. Indeed, You are the Almighty, the Wise.’”
The Revolution Leader affirmed that the Holy Quran is the everlasting miracle and the light that Allah revealed to His servant , Messenger Muhammad, peace , blessings be upon him and his family, to bring people from darkness into light. The Prophet conveyed it as a bearer of Allah’s message, guide, bringer of glad tidings, warner, fighter, caller to Allah by His permission, and as an illuminating lamp. Allah has preserved it for generations until the Day of Judgment.
He explained that the disbelievers are enemies of the divine message, those who obstruct and oppose it. They represent arrogant tyranny that seeks to enslave people instead of Allah. They are allies of Satan who work to mislead , corrupt people in order to control, dominate, and exploit them.
He said, “The disbelievers are the source of evil, corruption, crime, oppression and misguidance. They seek to offer alternatives to Allah’s message , teachings in accordance with their own desires and to achieve their satanic objectives. They exercise tyranny with the utmost force and brutality, crushing vulnerable peoples and committing the most heinous crimes without regard for the human conscience. They are consistently on the side of aggression and tyranny, as exemplified by the crimes of the Zionist enemy in its aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.”
He added, “Therefore, firmness is necessary to put an end to the Zionists’ crimes, stop their oppression and prevent them from attempting to impose their falsehood on people. Adherence to the divine message, commitment to its teachings and steadfastness on its path can only be achieved by standing firm against enemies, confronting their aggression , evil, freeing oneself from their hegemony and refusing to submit to them.”
The Leader affirmed that firmness toward enemies is demonstrated through a strong, steadfast, clear , openly declared position; steadfastness in upholding the truth , the divine message with dignity , resolve; and through jihad in the cause of Allah, sacrifice , perseverance, regardless of the brutality and power of the disbelievers.
He said, “Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, and those with him are firm against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves. Their firmness is not a criminal impulse, an emotional reaction or an aggressive disposition. Rather, it is firmness in , for the truth, guided by moral , ethical principles, wisdom and justice. ‘Merciful among themselves’ means the mercy that embodies Allahs teachings in His message—a mercy reflected in their conscience, feelings, conduct, relationships and concerns.”
He pointed out that clear indications point to the forces of evil heading toward collapse and the end of their arrogance and dominance, stressing that the true future, divine empowerment , inevitable triumph belong to Islam and the divine message.
Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi placed a great responsibility on the Islamic nation for its failure to fulfill its sacred duties, through which it would attain Allah’s support and victory.
He attributed the Palestinian people’s horrific suffering under Zionist oppression and crimes in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, Al-Quds and across Palestine, as well as the repeated violations of the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, to the consequences of the nation’s failure to fulfill its responsibilities.
He spoke of the dangers threatening the entire nation as a result of Zionist ambitions and its drive under the banner of “changing the Middle East” and establishing “Greater Israel,” as well as American and Israeli conspiracies against the Arab and Muslim nations in general. He said these developments include the aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran, continued attacks in Lebanon, the ongoing violations against Syria and targeting of Yemen. He stressed that all this demonstrates that the correct choice for the nation is to act in accordance with Allah’s teachings, carry the banner of jihad in the cause of Allah, adopt the means of achieving victory and adhere to the Holy Qur’an.
He noted that the fruits of steadfastness on the right course were evident in the great victory achieved by the Islamic Republic of Iran in confronting the US-Israeli aggression, in the steadfastness of the jihad and resistance front across its various fronts in Lebanon, Gaza, Yemen , Iraq despite the power of the enemies, in the Yemeni people’s liberation movement and their struggle in the cause of Allah.
At the conclusion of his speech, the Leader praised the large and distinguished turnout in commemorating the Prophet’s birthday, as well as the efforts of scholars, cultural figures, security personnel, preachers, organizers, technicians , all those who worked , contributed to, and prepared for, this great commemoration.
