Sana’a Commemorates Anniversary of Sayyed Nasrallah’s Martyrdom

The capital Sana’a on Saturday held a central event marking the second anniversary of the martyrdom of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, attended by senior officials and members of the public.

Acting Prime Minister Allama Mohammed Muftah said the Yemeni people were commemorating the anniversary of the martyrdom of “one of the greatest leaders and figures of humanity,” stressing that the assassination of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah could not be considered a victory for the enemy despite four decades of planning, surveillance and attempts to assassinate him.

Muftah said those behind the assassination believed they could also eliminate Nasrallah’s project, but had failed, adding that they were now attempting to portray themselves as dominant while the martyr’s project and positions remained present and continued to influence events.

Addressing the global Zionist system, Muftah said Sayyed Nasrallah had defeated it in several confrontations, adding that his final victory came on the day of his martyrdom. He cited Sayyed Nasrallah’s statement: “We are not defeated. When we achieve victory, we win, and when we are martyred, we win.”

Muftah said Sayyed Nasrallah’s martyrdom and positions had established a documented school for future generations through his speeches and public record, describing it as an exceptional model that would continue to influence generations, similar to the school of Imam Hussein in sacrifice, courage, awareness and knowledge.

Muftah also addressed US attempts to exercise global dominance, pointing to measures taken by Washington during the previous week to prevent several individuals, including the Palestinian president, from obtaining visas to attend the United Nations.

He renewed his pledge to remain committed to Sayyed Nasrallah’s path, saying: “We remain committed to the pledge and will continue along this path until Al-Aqsa is liberated and we pray there.”

Meanwhile, Supreme Political Council member Mohammed Al-Nuaimi said the blood of Sayyed Nasrallah “paves the road to victory and uproots the thrones of tyrants,” addressing the Israeli enemy and stressing that Sayyed Nasrallah’s blood would remain present in the course of the confrontation.

He also said Sayyed Nasrallah’s martyrdom and positions had established a documented school for future generations, describing it as an exceptional model that would continue to influence generations in sacrifice, courage, awareness and knowledge.

For his part, member of the Yemeni Scholars Association Allama Fouad Naji said Sayyed Nasrallah was the first to change the equation and achieve a victory over the Israeli enemy. He described him as the “axis of the axis” and a safeguard for the region when he confronted the crime of the century.

Naji said the greatest description given to Sayyed Nasrallah was that of Leader of the Revolution Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi, who referred to him as the “martyr of Islam and humanity,” saying the description reflected his stature and role.

He said Sayyed Nasrallah was an Islamic figure whose role could not be confined by geography and that he demonstrated that religion could guide public life. Naji described him as the “man of the era,” the “axis of the axis” and a safeguard for the region for confronting the “New Middle East” project and the “Deal of the Century.”

Naji said Nasrallah had been a nightmare for the Zionists for nearly half a century and remained so through his ideas, party, fighters and followers, stressing that his influence did not end with his martyrdom.

He also recalled Nasrallah’s positions toward Yemen, saying Yemen would not forget his support at a time when “everyone abandoned us.” He added that Yemeni generations would remember his positions toward Yemen as well as his support for Palestine and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Naji concluded by saying that the blood of Sayyed Nasrallah and his companion Sayyed Hashem Safieddine would become a “sweeping flood” that would change the face of the world and alter the balance in favor of the believers.

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the longtime leader of Lebanon’s Hezbollah, was assassinated in an Israeli airstrike on Beirut in September 2024. His martyrdom prompted commemorations and statements of support across the region.
