Shura Council: Saudi claims that Yemen targeted Medina reflect moral & political bankruptcy

The Shura Council strongly condemned continued Saudi allegations that Yemen had targeted sites and facilities in Medina, describing the claims as blatant falsehoods , unprecedented political and moral bankruptcy.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Council said the allegations were part of desperate attempts to mislead Muslim and international public opinion, conceal Saudi failures , crimes, and cover up its continued blockade of the Yemeni people.

The statement said Yemen and its armed forces, which it described as defending Al-Aqsa Mosque and Islamic holy sites and supporting Palestinians, would not target holy sites or civilian facilities in the lands of the Two Holy Mosques.

It stressed that Yemen’s position remains committed to protecting and preserving Islamic holy sites, calling the use of the names of Medina or Mecca in what it termed fabricated media claims a cynical exploitation of religious sanctities.

The Council called on Muslims, scholars and people worldwide to verify information and reject rumors, asserting that Yemeni armed forces target what it describes as legitimate military targets in response to Saudi actions , in defense of Yemen’s sovereignty, security and independence.
