Six Palestinians killed in Israeli strike on two houses in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza Strip

At least six Palestinian civilians, including a young girl, were killed and others injured on Thursday evening when the Israeli military bombed two houses in Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip.

According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, Israeli forces fired missiles at a house belonging to Al-Hawli family in the Deir al-Balah refugee camp, west of the city, causing the home to collapse on its residents.

WAFA reported that the strike resulted in the deaths of four civilians:
Qamar Raafat Abu Samra (16),
Rania Naif Ibrahim Al-Hawli (40),
Islam Naif Mohammed Al-Saqqa (37), and
Mohammed Hamed Mohammed Al-Hawli (52).
Dozens were wounded, as ambulance and civil defense crews rushed to recover the victims and transfer the injured.

The agency added that Israeli warplanes also targeted another house belonging to Al-Jarou family, near the ‘Akila station in the Al-Bassa area west of Deir al-Balah, killing two young men and injuring another.

Earlier in the day, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the total number of people killed by Israeli fire since the ceasefire took effect on October 10 had reached 451, while the number of injuries had risen to 1,251, in what it described as a blatant violation of the agreement.

The ceasefire in the Gaza Strip entered into force on October 10, following a two-year Israeli military offensive, yet Israeli forces continue to commit daily violations of the ceasefire terms.
