A source in Iran’s Supreme National Security Council confirmed on Monday that the council has approved a plan to manage the Strait of Hormuz. This plan includes preventing the forces of aggression and countries imposing sanctions on Iran from passing through the strategic strait in the Persian Gulf.
The Fars News Agency quoted a member of the Supreme National Security Council as saying that the council approved a plan to impose transit fees on the Strait of Hormuz.
The plan includes key elements, most importantly “security arrangements for the strait and the safety of maritime navigation within it, environmental issues, as well as financial arrangements and customs regulations.”
The plan stipulates the activation of Iranian sovereignty over the strait through the armed forces, preventing the passage of US and Israeli forces, and prohibiting countries participating in unilateral sanctions imposed on Iran from passing through the strait.
The plan also emphasizes “cooperation with the Sultanate of Oman in establishing the legal framework for this measure.”
On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a new aggression against Iran, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of civilians and targeting schools, hospitals, mosques, and other infrastructure belonging to the Iranian people.
In response to this aggression, Iran launched Operation True Promise 4 against Israel and US bases in the region.
