Syria: Israeli forces set up checkpoint in Quneitra Countryside & stop passersby

An Israeli force advanced today, Monday, into the countryside of Quneitra Governorate in southern Syria and established a temporary checkpoint on the road connecting the towns of Umm Batna and Eastern Samdaniya, stopping passersby.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on its website that the Israeli force conducted ID checks on those traveling along the road, creating a tense situation in the area. No arrests or direct clashes were recorded.

According to the Observatory, today the UN Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) met with residents of Jibata Al-Khashab in northern Quneitra countryside, coinciding with the recording of violations following Israeli incursions into the area.
