UNRWA warns of risks facing out-of-school children in Gaza

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned on Monday that children not enrolled in schools in Gaza are at risk of exploitation.

UNRWA’s official X account quoted the agency’s Director of Communications, Juliette Touma, saying that “out-of-school children in Gaza are vulnerable to exploitation, including child marriage, child labor, and recruitment by armed groups.”

She affirmed that “UNRWA supports the recovery of children and the restoration of their normal lives, and continues to expand learning spaces, reaching over 40,000 children so far.
