The body of the martyred Lieutenant General Mohammed Abdul Karim Al-Ghamari, Chief of the General Staff of the Ministry of Defense, was buried today in the capital, Sana’a, in a solemn official and popular funeral procession. He was martyred as a result of raids by the Zionist aggression, as part of the “Promised Victory and Holy Jihad” battle.
At the forefront of the mourners were the Grand Mufti of Yemen, Allama Shamsuddin Sharafuddin, Acting Prime Minister Allama Mohammed Miftah, a number of provincial governors, members of the House of Representatives and the Shura Council, Yemeni sheikhs, military and security leaders, civil and social figures, notables, and large crowds of citizens. Prayers were held for the body of the martyr, Lieutenant General Mohammed Abdul Karim Al-Ghamari, at the People’s Mosque in the capital, Sana’a. His body was wrapped in the Yemeni flag, and the funeral procession proceeded in a military vehicle. A group of honor guard officers surrounded the body, carrying pictures of the martyr, while military bands played mournful funeral tunes.
The People’s Mosque and Al-Sabeen Square witnessed large crowds from the capital, Sana’a, and various governorates, who flocked from early morning to participate in the funeral, chanting slogans pledging to continue on the path charted by the martyr Al-Ghamari. Meanwhile, funeral teams and organizing committees received the delegations and formed carefully arranged rows to organize the funeral ceremonies. During the funeral, the Grand Mufti of Yemen, Sheikh Shamsuddin Sharafuddin, expressed his deepest condolences to the leader of the revolution, Sayyid Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, the political leadership, the Government of Change and Construction, the Yemeni people, the Islamic nation, and the families of the martyrs, on the martyrdom of a group of great martyrs on the path to Quds, striving for the sake of Allah and supporting the oppressed among His servants. He said, “First, the tragedy that has befallen us comes within the framework of the words of Allah Almighty: ‘And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient, who, when disaster strikes them, say, ‘Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.’
Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the [rightly] guided.” He added, “This great and tremendous tragedy should not deter us from continuing our path of supporting the oppressed and weak among Allah’s servants, and from striving in His cause, until we meet Allah while He is pleased with us. The second issue is that what happened on the part of some mercenaries and agents in their cooperation with the usurping Zionist enemy and all those who follow this path, Allah Almighty said that whoever cooperates with the enemies against Islam and Muslims is an apostate.”
Allama Sharaf al-Din cited as evidence for this the words of Allah Almighty: “Indeed, those who turn back on their heels after guidance has become clear to them – Satan has enticed them and prolonged [their] hope. That is because they said to those who disliked what Allah has revealed, “We will obey you in some of the matter.” And Allah knows their secrets.” He emphasized that it is not a condition for an apostate to be a disbeliever in Allah, the Last Day, and the Messenger, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Peace, in every sense of the word, is enough.
His dealings with enemies, against the sons of Islam and Muslims, are evidence of his apostasy from Islam. He continued, “The third issue is that if we learn that someone has cooperated with the enemy, it is our religious duty to report him and inform the relevant authorities about this matter, because covering up and remaining silent about evil is itself an evil and constitutes participation, as the Prophet, may Allah bless him and his family and grant them peace, said: ‘Whoever commits an evil act or shelters an evildoer, upon him is the curse of Allah and of the angels and of all mankind. No ransom or compensation will be accepted from him.'”
The Mufti of Yemen pointed out that the fourth issue relates to emphasizing that it is impermissible to cover up for these criminals, as Allah Almighty says: “And do not argue on behalf of those who deceive themselves. Indeed, Allah does not like anyone who is a traitor and sinful.” Here you are! You have argued for them in worldly life. But who will argue for them with Allah on the Day of Resurrection? Or who will be responsible for them? He reiterated the emphasis that covering up for an oppressor and a corrupt person whose corruption and oppression are known is not permissible: “Whoever intercedes for a good cause will have a share thereof, and whoever intercedes for an evil cause will have a share thereof. And he is [ever] able to bear it.” Allah is over all things aggravating,” adding, “The Prophet, may Allah bless him and his family and grant them peace, warned against intercession for such people when he said, ‘Whoever’s intercession prevents a limit set by Allah has opposed Allah in His command.’”
The Grand Mufti of Iraq stated that the great martyrs died in the cause of Allah, as Allah Almighty says: “Among the believers are men true to what they pledged to Allah. Among them is he who has fulfilled his vow [to the death], and among them is he who awaits [his chance] and they did not alter [their commitment] by any alteration.” He asked Allah Almighty to grant the martyrs mercy, forgiveness, and contentment, and to reunite them with them in His abode of mercy. In turn, Acting Prime Minister Mohammed Miftah expressed his condolences to the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyid Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, the President of the Supreme Political Council, the great mujahideen in the armed forces and security forces, the Yemeni people, the martyr’s family, and his fellow martyrs.
He said: “On this solemn occasion, we bid farewell to a prominent figure among the nation’s icons and a distinguished and unique figure among its symbols and great figures, the martyred mujahid Mohammed Abdul Karim al-Ghamari, who was raised on the principle of jihad and was distinguished by his noble soul and devotion to Allah Almighty and to His leadership.”
The martyr was considered “a model of a sincere, loyal, and dedicated mujahid, dedicated to his duty. Allah has ordained for him great victories. He was at the forefront of the ranks and at the forefront of deterrence, bearing a tremendous, weighty, and immense responsibility in keeping pace with the battlefield and in building the military institution, which, thanks to Allah, he and his colleagues and comrades reached the highest and most distinguished levels of giving. He did not leave the military institution until it was at the peak of its giving and brilliance, and, thanks to Allah, it has reached the ambition to which every free man in this people and this nation aspires.”
Allama Miftah added: “The martyr Al-Ghamari is one of the most knowledgeable Yemenis about Yemen and every location in the country—its plains, mountains, coasts, and islands. He toured the country, visiting its various sites and locations, and he is one of the people most familiar with the men, families, great figures, and martyrs of Yemen, given his position and status as Chief of the General Staff and a key pillar in this great Yemeni epic of faith.” He stated that the martyr was a unique military leader, distinguished in his social role, and had a significant social role and political interests. He played a developmental role and cared about every detail of Yemeni society. He lived with the Yemeni people every moment and minute of his life. He was extremely dedicated and caring, and he never missed a moment in which he could offer something to his people and nation without offering it with complete sincerity.
The Acting Prime Minister continued, “It is enough honor and status for the martyr before Allah that he was one of the leaders of this great epic that the nation wrote in the face of the most brutal tyrants of the world. It is enough honor and status for him that all the evil people of the world participated in the conspiracy to kill and martyr him. It was the global coalition of evil that targeted this great leader, who possessed a lofty status and awe for his struggle and giving.”
He praised the massive turnout and impressive attendance of the Yemeni people at the funeral. The mourners emphasized that the martyrdom of the jihadi leader, Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Ghamari, is a loss to the armed forces in particular and to Yemen in general, due to his significant role in building the armed forces with its various formations and military branches, combining military professionalism, strategic insight, and a humanitarian dimension.
They pointed out that the physical absence of Commander Al-Ghamari will not deter the resolve of the Yemeni armed forces and the Yemeni people to continue on the path and follow the path of the martyrs until victory is achieved over their enemies.
The mourners praised the sacrifices of the martyr Al-Ghamari and his honorable stances in confronting the forces of American, Saudi, Emirati, and Zionist aggression, as well as the sacrifices of all the martyrs, which resulted in victory on various fronts of pride, heroism, and dignity.
The body of the martyr Lieutenant General Mohammed Abdul Karim Al-Ghamari was laid to rest in the Martyr Al-Samad Cemetery in Al-Sabeen Square in the capital, Sana’a.
