The Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Sunday the execution of a qualitative military operation targeting Lod Airport in the occupied Jaffa area.
In a televised statement, the official spokesman of the Yemeni Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e, declared that the missile force carried out a precision strike on Lod Airport using a Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile.
The statement confirmed that the operation successfully achieved its objective, causing millions of Zionist usurpers to flee into shelters and halting airport activity.
The strike, the statement noted, was carried out in support of the oppressed Palestinian people and resistance mujahideen, and in retaliation for the genocide committed by the Zionist enemy against the people in Gaza.
The Yemeni Armed Forces saluted Gaza—its steadfast and patient people, and its faithful resistance fighters—who have remained unyielding like mountains, delivering severe blows to the enemies of Allah.
“Despite the siege, aggression, conspiracies, and betrayals, they have neither surrendered nor submitted,” the statement read. “Instead, they continue to demonstrate heroic acts and achieve victories with unwavering determination and resilience.”
The statement reaffirmed that the Yemeni Armed Forces will continue their support operations until the aggression on Gaza ends and the siege is lifted. It also emphasized their full preparedness to respond to any developments in the coming days.
Earlier, the Israeli enemy media reported a temporary suspension of air traffic at Lod (Ben Gurion) Airport following the launch of a missile from Yemen. According to Israeli sources, air raid sirens sounded in multiple areas across the occupied territories early in the morning, with the Israeli army confirming the missile launch. Additionally, a fire broke out near the settlement of Beit Shemesh, close to occupied Al-Quds, due to falling debris from an attempted interception.
Since the Israeli aggression on Gaza began on October 7, 2023, Yemen has openly aligned itself with the Palestinian cause, declaring its full support and launching numerous long-range missile and drone operations targeting Israeli-occupied areas. These operations have increasingly disrupted Israeli airspace, forcing repeated alerts and closures of vital infrastructure.
Lod Airport, Israel’s main international hub located near Jaffa, has faced multiple temporary shutdowns due to Yemeni strikes—demonstrating the expanding range and impact of Yemen’s military capabilities.
These missile strikes are part of a wider “Axis of Resistance” initiative, which includes forces in Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq, and Iran, all coordinating in opposition to Israeli military actions in Gaza and the West Bank. Yemen’s armed forces have repeatedly stated that their operations will continue until the aggression on Gaza ends and the blockade is fully lifted.
