Yemen’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates reaffirmed the Republic of Yemen’s rejection of hostile policies targeting the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In a statement, the ministry condemned the decision by the so-called “European Troika” – France, Germany, and the United Kingdom – to reimpose sanctions on Iran.
It noted that despite Iran’s pursuit of dialogue and cooperation, the United States and the European Troika have responded with further violations, pressure, and aggression, considering the reimposition of sanctions as further evidence of what was referenced in verse 105 of Surah Al-Baqarah.
The ministry stressed that policies of pressure, blackmail, and sanctions are futile and cannot break the will of free peoples.
It further held the Troika states and the United States responsible for the potential consequences of reinstating sanctions on Iran, warning that such actions could lead to escalation threatening both regional and international security.
