Yemen’s President Congratulates Iran on Election of Mojtaba Khamenei as Guide of Islamic Revolution

Yemen’s President Mahdi Al-Mashat congratulated the Muslim Iranian people on their successful selection of the third Guide and Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Ali Khamenei.

In his congratulatory message, President Al-Mashat considered this selection an important milestone in the path of the Islamic Republic, reflecting the cohesion of its institutions and their ability to overcome current challenges.

He emphasized that the choice of Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei demonstrates the strength and resilience of the Iranian state amid brutal American-Zionist aggression, considering it as evidence of the institutional nature of the Islamic Republic’s system.

President Al-Mashat expressed confidence that the election of the new Leader would contribute to strengthening the role of the state’s political, military, and security institutions in confronting the “barbaric American-Zionist aggression,” ultimately leading to a decisive victory.

He further affirmed that the selection of the new Leader would help thwart the enemies’ objectives and enhance the cohesion of the Iranian people and its leadership during this critical phase.

The selection of Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Ali Khamenei as the third Supreme Leader of Iran follows the martyrdom of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in US-Israeli airstrikes on February 28, 2026.

His appointment comes amid heightened regional tensions, with ongoing American-Zionist aggression against Iran that also claimed the lives of several family members. The United States had previously imposed sanctions on Mojtaba Khamenei in 2019.

This marks only the second leadership transition in the Islamic Republic’s history since the 1979 revolution, signaling the continuation of Iran’s path of resistance against the global arrogance and tyranny.
