Gaza Under Sustained Bombardment as Worsening Humanitarian Conditions Signal New Disaster

Large areas of the Gaza Strip continue to come under relentless military escalation, with the sound of explosions persisting since early morning in eastern Gaza City, particularly in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood and adjacent areas, amid intensive demolition and targeting operations.

Israeli enemy forces have concentrated their operations on destroying what remains of residential units along the so-called “yellow line” stretching from southern to northern Gaza, alongside heavy gunfire and fire density in northeastern Khan Younis. At the same time, unmanned aerial vehicles have maintained constant and intensive flights over Gaza’s governorates.

Over the past 24 hours, four civilians were killed in separate areas of the Strip after coming under fire from Israeli enemy military vehicles stationed along the eastern border. The continued drone presence has reinforced an atmosphere of constant threat and fear for the population.

Despite more than 100 days since the ceasefire entered into force, living conditions have shown no tangible improvement. The majority of Gaza’s residents remain displaced in fragile tents made of cloth and plastic sheeting, offering little to no protection from heavy rainfall or strong winds.

Humanitarian concerns are mounting further with the approach of a new weather system, as the tight blockade remains in place and the Rafah crossing stays closed, despite provisions in the ceasefire agreement allowing for the evacuation of the wounded and sick. Ongoing delays and non-compliance have deepened fears of an impending humanitarian catastrophe.

Gaza has endured months of sustained Israeli aggression, resulting in widespread destruction of residential neighborhoods, mass displacement, and a severe humanitarian crisis. The continued blockade, restrictions on crossings, and repeated violations of ceasefire commitments have left the population facing acute shortages of shelter, medical care, and basic necessities, amid repeated warnings from humanitarian organizations of catastrophic consequences.
