Prisoners’ Affairs Authority: Deportation of Two Prisoners Warning of Targeting Thousands of Prisoners

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Affairs Authority and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club stated that the decision by the Israeli occupation authorities to deport two Jerusalemite prisoners, one of whom is a released prisoner, constitutes a dangerous prelude to targeting thousands of prisoners and released prisoners in Jerusalem and the 1948 occupied territories, whether they hold Israeli citizenship or Jerusalem ID cards.

In a statement issued Wednesday , the Prisoners’ Affairs Authority and the Prisoners’ Club added that the decision is based on a racist law, namely the Citizenship and Residency Revocation Law, which the occupation authorities passed in 2023. This law is considered one of the most prominent pieces of legislation aimed at undermining the Palestinian presence in the 1948 occupied territories and in occupied Jerusalem. They explained that this decision comes amidst statements by the occupation leaders, foremost among them the war criminal Netanyahu, who signed it.
