Speech by Leader Al-Sayyid Abdul Malik Badruddin Al-Houthi on Martyrdom of Great Mujahid Leader Al-Sayyid Ali Al-Husseini Al-Khamenei

I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the outcast.

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.

Praise is to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. I believe that there is no god but Allah, the Sovereign and the Manifest Truth, and that our master Muhammad is His servant, Messenger, and Last Prophet.

O Allah! Confer Your salat and blessings upon Muhammad and the Family of Muhammad as You conferred Your salat and blessings upon Ibrahim and the Family of Ibrahim. You are Owner of Praise, Owner of Glory! And be pleased with Muhammad’s good companions and all Your righteous servants and mujahidin.

Brothers and sisters, peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.

Allah (Glory be to Him) says in the Holy Quran, {‘Never think of those killed in the cause of Allah as dead. In fact, they are alive with their Lord, well provided for, rejoicing in Allah’s bounties and being delighted for those yet to join them: That there will be no fear for them, nor will they grieve. They are joyful for receiving Allah’s grace and bounty, and that Allah does not deny the reward of the believers‘}[Ali ‘Imran 3:169-171]. This is the word of truth from Almighty Allah, the Most High.

Indeed, to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has announced the martyrdom of the eminent, godly scholar, the Supreme Leader and Imam of the Islamic Revolution, the great mujahid leader, Al-Sayyid Ali Al-Husseini Al-Khamenei (May Allah be pleased with him). He was assassinated by the enemies of Islam and Muslims—the criminal, arrogant tyrants of this age, the Americans and the Israelis—during a treacherous assault on the Muslim Iranian people. This is aimed at enabling the Israeli enemy to dominate the region and removing the greatest obstacle to that project: the Islamic Republic of Iran, with its Islamic system and its jihadi, revolutionary, liberationist orientation—one that rejects Zionist hegemony, supports the Palestinian cause, and stands with the peoples of the region.

Over this grave loss—a true loss for the Islamic world—we extend our deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to his noble family, the Iranian Muslim people, their official institutions, the jihadist Revolutionary Guard, and the Muslim Ummah as a whole. The perpetration of this heinous crime by the enemies of the Islamic Ummah—namely, the American and Israeli tyrants—was aimed at eliminating the monumental role of the great martyr and esteemed leader of the Islamic Revolution (May Allah be pleased with him) in resisting their tyranny and thwarting their conspiracies. It also sought to eliminate his role in leading an Islamic system with a global role in supporting the oppressed and presenting a civilisational Islamic model free from the domination of arrogant tyrannical powers while standing with the just causes and the legitimate rights of our Ummah, foremost among them the Palestinian cause. They also intended to break the will of the Iranian Muslim people and their official institutions, weaken their morale, and use that to further subjugate compliant regimes and governments in the region, pushing them towards submission and surrender under the feet of Zionism.

What is required of the Iranian Muslim people, their courageous, jihadist Revolutionary Guard, and their official institutions is loyalty to this pure blood and steadfastness upon the path of freedom, dignity, and defiance. The martyrdom of this great, mujahid Islamic symbol—an eminent scholar and a wise, exceptional leader—should become a powerful motivation to continue the journey with Husseini pride, faith-driven steadfastness, and Khomeini resolve. This development calls for the steadfastness, loyalty, patience of the godly, along with hope for reward from Allah, as He says in the Holy Quran, {‘And how many a prophet has had numerous godly men combating alongside him, and they did not waver regardless of that which afflicted them in the way of Allah, nor did they weaken, nor did they give in. And Allah loves the patient ones. And all they said was, “Our Lord! Forgive our sins and excesses, make our steps firm, and grant us victory over the disbelieving people.” So Allah gave them the reward of this world and the good reward of the Hereafter. And Allah loves the doers of good‘}[Ali ‘Imran 3:146-148].

The blood and sacrifices of godly leaders immortalise the path of jihad and liberation, reviving in the Ummah and among all free people the spirit of sacrifice and resolve. From the very beginning, the Islamic Republic of Iran—through its Islamic Revolution—has walked this path and remained steadfast through every storm and hardship. The enemies’ disappointment can be realised through the failure of the goals they sought through this crime, resulting from the steadfastness of the Iranian people and their official institutions and their commitment to the path of liberation and jihad.

The choice before the peoples of our Muslim Ummah is to confront American-Israeli tyranny and to draw from these noble sacrifices renewed steadfastness, perseverance, and determination. For the options are clear: Either the Ummah submits and surrenders to American-Israeli tyranny, thereby losing its freedom, dignity, honour, religion, and its worldly life and Hereafter; or it relies upon Allah (Glory be to Him), trusts Him and His true promise, and confronts tyranny, making sacrifices in the way of Allah and in pursuit of its sacred causes and the promised divine victory, as Allah (the Almighty) says, {‘For it is Our duty to grant victory to the believers‘}[Ar-Rum 30:47].

American–Zionist criminality cannot prevent the downfall of the Israeli entity, for Allah has promised its downfall and the end of its tyranny in His revealed books, both in the Torah and the Quran. There is also a clear divine warning in the Holy Quran: {‘But if you return, We will return‘}[Al-Isra 17:8]. Therefore, the peoples of our Muslim Ummah must trust Allah (Blessed and Exalted) and pursue all means that can grant it His victory; sacrifices should enhance their resolve and steadfastness. {‘So in Allah let the believers put their trust‘}[Ali ‘Imran 3:122].

The Iranian position is cohesive and firm, and the Iranian response is strong and ongoing. The Iranian people, the axis of resistance and jihad, and all free people of the world remain faithful to these great, pure sacrifices—steadfast upon the path of liberation and committed to their just cause. The best outcome belongs to those mindful of Allah.

Indeed, to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return; there is no power nor strength except through Allah, the Most High, the Almighty.
