Yemen’s President Hails Yemenis’ Mass Turnout for Prophet’s Birthday
Yemen’s President Mahdi al-Mashat praised and thanked the Yemeni people for their massive turnout across Sana’a and other provinces to mark the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad’s birth.
Al-Mashat said the unprecedented crowds demonstrate Yemenis’ deep connection to the Prophet and their commitment to his teachings and example.
He said the million-strong celebrations sent a clear message to the world about Yemenis’ adherence to the Prophet’s values, Quranic teachings and religious identity, despite years of aggression and blockade.
Al-Mashat said the large-scale participation reflects Yemenis’ ability to preserve their religious and social traditions despite difficult economic and humanitarian conditions, describing the celebrations as an opportunity to draw lessons from the Prophet’s life and strengthen social solidarity and responsibility.
He also linked the occasion to Yemen’s positions on regional issues, particularly the Palestinian cause, saying the Prophet’s example reinforces support for oppressed peoples and the causes of the Islamic nation.
Al-Mashat praised the efforts of government institutions, security forces and organizing, health, traffic and service committees for facilitating the large gatherings across the country.
Yemenis are marking the Prophet Muhammad’s birth anniversary despite years of blockade, economic pressure and hostile campaigns by the enemies of Islam.
The celebrations have become a major public occasion, with Yemenis portraying their continued observance as an expression of faith, resilience and attachment to the Prophet’s message despite the pressures facing the country.
