Government Spokesman Condemns Saudi Crimes, Urges Arab Governments to Avoid Involvement

Al-Bakhiti described the Saudi enemy’s targeting of prisoners affiliated with its forces as a moral and ethical failure, saying it demonstrated disregard even for those fighting alongside it.

He condemned the reported Saudi strike on a home in Al-Mokha, Taiz, which killed six people, including two children and a woman, and injured others.

He said the attack further demonstrated the Saudi enemy’s conduct and affirmed the Yemeni people’s right to respond and defend themselves by available means.

He also condemned the reported Saudi targeting of a prison holding prisoners affiliated with its forces in Al-Jawf, which killed nine prisoners and violated international law.

He urged those fighting alongside Saudi forces to learn from these incidents and leave the Saudi enemy’s camps.

Al-Bakhiti said the reported targeting of women and children in Mokha recalled Saudi attacks against Yemeni civilians over the past 12 years, affirming that more than 60,000 civilians had been killed, most of them women and children.

He criticized international silence over Saudi actions in Yemen, while some governments are expressing solidarity with Saudi Arabia in response to Yemeni attacks.

Al-Bakhiti also urged Arab and Muslim governments not to become involved in Saudi efforts to draw them into aggression against Yemen, calling instead for regional efforts to focus on the Palestinian cause and the common threat posed by the Israeli enemy.

The remarks come amid a renewed escalation between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, with Saudi airstrikes reported across Al-Jawf, Taiz and other areas.

Recent incidents have included the reported strike on Al-Hazm Prison in Al-Jawf, which Yemeni authorities said killed nine prisoners, and a strike on a home in Mokha that reportedly killed six people, including children and a woman.
