Insan Organization condemns continued Saudi crimes against civilians in Taiz

The Insan Organization for Rights and Freedoms condemned continued Saudi enemy attacks on civilians in Taiz province, describing them as a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, which protects civilians and prohibits targeting them.

In a statement received by Saba, the organization said Saudi enemy airstrikes on Bani Amer area in Al-Shamayatayn district killed a woman and injured four others, including a girl. Artillery shelling by Saudi-backed mercenaries also targeted a house in Al-Ram Al-A’la area of Haifan district, killing a man and injuring his wife.

The organization stressed that attacks on residential areas and the endangerment of civilian lives violate international humanitarian law, which requires distinguishing between civilians , combatants and prohibits indiscriminate attacks.

It said the deaths and injuries, particularly among women and children, represent human tragedies that leave families devastated and civilians living under the threat of bombardment.

The organization held the international community and the United Nations responsible for failing to take effective action to stop crimes against civilians in Yemen, warning that continued silence would reinforce a culture of impunity and undermine the credibility of international justice.

It called for an immediate halt to attacks on civilians and their houses, accountability for those responsible, compensation for victims, and serious international measures to protect civilians and prevent further violations.

The organization reaffirmed that crimes against civilians must not go unpunished and that legal accountability remains in force regardless of how much time has passed.
