In a statement , the ministry stated that the targeting of an academic institution dedicated to training and preparing medical professionals to serve society exposes the Saudi enemy’s insistence on destroying the basic components of life in Yemen—chief among them education, which serves as the fundamental pillar for human development and building the future.
The ministry considered this targeting a crime against educational and academic institutions, reflecting a deep-seated hostility toward the Yemeni people and attempts to undermine the present and future of Yemeni generations.
It emphasized that targeting educational facilities and universities is not merely an attack on physical structures and facilities, but a direct assault on students’ right to education.
It represents an attempt to impede the pursuit of science and knowledge and to deprive Yemeni generations of opportunities for qualification, growth, and contributing to the nation’s development.
The statement noted that this attack embodies a hostile approach aimed at targeting the Yemeni individual across all stages of life, seeking to destroy the nation’s scientific institutions and human capabilities in a desperate attempt to break the will of the Yemeni people and undermine their ambitions and aspirations.
The ministry held the Saudi enemy fully responsible for this attack and its consequences, calling on international, UN, and human rights organizations, as well as educational bodies, to condemn the targeting of the College of Medicine at Hodeidah University.
It urged them to take clear stances against attacks on educational facilities in Yemen, work to ensure their protection, and hold those responsible accountable.
The ministry reaffirmed that targeting educational institutions will not succeed in halting the educational process or weakening the resolve of Yemeni generations. It stressed that the determination for life, knowledge, and progress will remain stronger than attempts at destruction, and that teachers and academics will continue their mission of educating the Yemeni people, safeguarding their right to knowledge, and shaping their future.
