Al-Jawf Correctional Facility Death Toll Rises to 24 Killed and Injured as Rescue Efforts Continue
The death toll from the Saudi enemy’s airstrike on the central correctional facility in Al-Jawf province has risen to 24 killed and wounded, Yemen’s Health and Environment Ministry said Tuesday.
The ministry said in a statement that the Saudi regime’s attack killed 17 people and injured seven others, including women and children who were visiting inmates.
It warned that the toll is not final and could rise significantly as rescue teams continue searching for victims under difficult conditions, with extensive destruction and heavy debris hampering efforts to reach those still missing.
The attack comes amid a renewed wave of aggression by the Saudi enemy against Yemen, reviving a campaign that has lasted more than a decade and left widespread destruction and civilian casualties.
The latest strike on the Al-Jawf correctional facility, which killed and wounded dozens, has intensified Yemeni warnings that Saudi escalation will carry consequences and that attacks on civilian facilities will not go unanswered.
