Araghchi: We Welcome Consultations with All Neighboring Countries

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that he discussed with his Omani counterpart, Badr al-Busaidi, the issue of the Strait of Hormuz and its management within the framework of international law, welcoming consultations with all neighboring countries.

The Iranian “Mehr” news agency reported on Saturday that Araghchi’s remarks came while explaining the details of his telephone conversation with the Omani minister.

Quoting Araghchi while elaborating on the phone call with his Omani counterpart, the agency said: “We discussed the Strait of Hormuz and its future management within the framework of sovereign responsibilities and international law.”

He added: “In a very constructive call with the Omani Foreign Minister, Badr al-Busaidi, I expressed Iran’s solidarity with the Sultanate of Oman against any threat.”

The Iranian Foreign Minister further explained: “We discussed the Strait of Hormuz and its future management within the framework of sovereign responsibilities and international law. We welcome consultations with all neighboring countries.”
