The Entisaf Organization for Women’s and Children’s Rights condemned the crime of the Saudi enemy against the family of citizen Ali Adli in the village of Umm Al-Dhahi in Harad District in Hajjah Governorate, which resulted in the martyrdom of the father, the mother, and four of their children, and the injury of a six-year-old girl.
The organization explained in a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that this crime is added to the series of genocide crimes committed by the Saudi enemy against the Yemeni people for 12 years, which have left more than 61 thousand martyrs among civilians, including women and children.
The statement affirmed that civilians and children must not be a continuous target of aggression, and that in all circumstances the principles of distinction and proportionality must be respected according to the rules of international humanitarian law, including the provisions of the Geneva Conventions and customary international law.
It pointed out that this crime comes coinciding with shelling and targeting that affected populated areas and civilian property in Hajjah, Saada, and Taiz governorates, which doubles concerns about the safety of the civilian population, especially women and children, and the necessity of taking urgent measures to protect them.
The statement warned that the persistence of such incidents without investigation and accountability exacerbates the state of impunity, and turns the suffering of civilian families into repeated numbers in the record of violations, while children lose their fundamental right to life, security, and protection.
The statement also affirmed that killing an entire family, including children of young ages, is not just a number in the toll of victims, but the loss of an entire family and a grave violation of human rights and children’s rights, requiring documentation, accountability, reparation, and justice for the victims and their families.
