An informed Iranian source said that Iran will not enter the second round of talks with the United States without meeting five conditions for building trust. According to the Fars News Agency on Tuesday evening, the source confirmed that “the conditions announced by Iran represent the minimum necessary guarantees for building trust before starting any talks with the United States.”
The five Iranian conditions for the American side include: “ending the war on all fronts, especially Lebanon, lifting sanctions imposed on Iran, releasing frozen Iranian funds, compensating for the damages caused by the war, and recognizing Iran’s sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.”
Iran also informed the Pakistani mediator that the continuation of the naval blockade in the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman after the ceasefire reinforces its position that negotiations with the United States are unreliable, according to the agency.
According to the informed source, these conditions are specified only within the framework of building a minimum level of trust to return to the negotiation process, and Tehran believes that without the practical achievement of these conditions, it will not be possible to enter new negotiations.
According to Fars Agency information, Iran put forward these five conditions in response to the American 14-point proposal. According to informed sources, these proposals were completely one-sided and designed to serve Washington’s interests. According to these sources, the Americans were trying through this proposal to achieve the goals they did not achieve in the war through negotiations.
