Gharib Abadi: Iran solely responsible for mine clearance in Strait of Hormuz

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharib Abadi warned that the Strait of Hormuz situation is sensitive and urged France not to escalate tensions.

He said on “X” that, under the Islamabad MoU, Iran alone is authorized to carry out mine-clearing operations in the strait, and no other country will participate.

He stressed that Iran will not allow foreign involvement, cautioning against further provocation in the region.
