Israeli Enemy Forces Continue Bulldozing Agricultural Lands in Quneitra Countryside

The Israeli enemy forces continue to carry out bulldozing and land-alteration operations in the southern countryside of Quneitra province, southern Syria.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on its website that Israeli enemy machinery carried out new bulldozing operations on Monday in the vicinity of Tel Akasha near the village of Bariqa, as part of the fortification project known as “Sofa 53,” which runs along the disengagement line with the occupied Syrian Golan.

According to the Observatory, the bulldozing focused on agricultural lands surrounding the hill, amid movements of “Israeli” military vehicles in the border area, with no information about clashes or injuries resulting from these movements.

It pointed out that these works and movements come within the framework of the ongoing fortification project being carried out by Israeli enemy forces along the border strip, which includes the construction of new roads, earthen berms, and defensive trenches, causing damage to areas of agricultural land that residents of the region depend on for their livelihood.

It mentioned that this raises concerns among residents of border villages in southern Syria, amid escalating “Israeli” military activities inside the buffer zone and the continuation of bulldozing and expansion of fortification works near the ceasefire line.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights had documented on May 26 of last month the bulldozing work carried out by a bulldozer belonging to Israeli enemy forces in the vicinity of the town of Al-Rafid in the southern countryside of Quneitra, amid military movements near the disengagement line.

The bulldozing focused on lands west of the town towards Tel Al-Faras, with no information about human casualties or clashes in the area.
