A projectile fired by Saudi-backed forces struck the wholesale fish market in Salh district, Taiz province, causing extensive property damage.
The incident comes amid renewed reports of cross-border fire. Al-Masirah’s correspondent in Sa’adah reported on Thursday that Saudi forces carried out artillery shelling against several areas in the border district of Baqim.
The shelling reportedly hit several areas indiscriminately. No casualties or property damage had been reported at the time of publication.
The incidents come amid renewed tensions along Yemen’s border with Saudi Arabia, following a period of relative de-escalation and stalled efforts to implement a broader roadmap for ending the Saudi aggression and blockade.
Recently, Saudi Arabia and Saudi-backed forces inside Yemen are renewing military escalation, while Sana’a has warned that attacks and military mobilizations will be met with reciprocal measures.
