Saudi Escalation Intensifies: Citizen Martyred, School and Port Targeted

Several Yemeni provinces witnessed a new escalation of the criminal Saudi aggression on Tuesday, resulting in the martyrdom of one citizen and the injury of others, along with the targeting of a school, a port, and various areas in a series of attacks that affected border and civilian areas in Saada, Lahj, and Taiz provinces.

Saadah: Border Districts Targeted
In Saadah province, a citizen was injured by Saudi enemy fire in the Shada border district, while another citizen was injured by Saudi rocket shelling targeting Al-Zahir district, according to a local source. This is a continuation of the attacks affecting the province’s border areas.
Lahj: School Targeted
In Lahj province, Saudi enemy aircraft targeted Al-Rawdah School in the Qour area of Zariqat Al-Sham isolation, affiliated with Al-Maqatirah district, in a criminal attack that hit a civilian educational facility and threatens the safety of the educational process in the region.
Taiz: Al-Mokha Port and Residential Areas Bombed
In Taiz province, the criminal Saudi enemy aircraft launched a series of airstrikes on Al-Mokha district, targeting Al-Mokha port and various areas of the district.
In a more deadly development, a citizen was martyred and three others injured with varying wounds as a result of Saudi enemy aircraft targeting a citizen’s home in Al-Hali neighborhood of the coastal city of Al-Mokha.
These crimes come within the context of a criminal Saudi escalation that exacerbates the suffering of civilians and threatens the safety of civilian and service facilities. There are demands to stop targeting residential areas and civilian facilities and to ensure the protection of citizens and their property in accordance with international laws and norms.
The Saudi attacks on Saada, Lahj, and Taiz on Tuesday represent a continuation of the Saudi-led aggression systematic targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure in Yemen. The targeting of a school in Lahj province and a port and residential areas in Taiz province constitutes a grave violation of international humanitarian law, which prohibits targeting civilians and civilian objects.
The targeting of Al-Rawdah School in Lahj province is part of the Saudi-led coalition’s pattern of attacking educational facilities, which have been repeatedly targeted throughout the 12-year aggression. The destruction of schools deprives children of their right to education and undermines the future of Yemen’s younger generation.
