Bin Habtoor responds to Trump’s remarks, affirming that Yemen will remain immune to any attempt to undermine its dignity, sovereignty, will of its people
Member of the Supreme Political Council Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor affirmed that what the criminal Trump said in describing countries and peoples as “dirty” is not merely an electoral slip of the tongue, but an explicit expression of a racist colonial mentality that views other peoples with a logic of supremacy and domination, and denies the simplest rules of human dignity guaranteed by international covenants.
Dr. Bin Habtoor said in a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba): “To those who mouth these degrading descriptions, we say that Yemen, Libya, Somalia, and Haiti are countries with history, civilization, and dignity, whose peoples have paid heavy prices as a result of policies of domination and foreign interventions for which Washington and its allies bear direct responsibility.”
He added: “Whoever wants to talk about terrorism and chaos must first review his record in creating crises, plundering wealth, and destabilizing these countries.”
The member of the Supreme Political Council noted that Trump’s preference for certain countries—such as Norway, Sweden, and Denmark—over others is nothing but the entrenchment of double standards and the classification of human beings according to racist criteria, a logic rejected entirely and in detail.
He also affirmed that the Yemeni people, who today stand in the face of the most powerful arrogant forces, have proven themselves worthy of sovereignty and dignity, and that their country is immune to insult and disparagement, renewing the affirmation that Yemen will remain immune to all who try to undermine its dignity, sovereignty, and the will of its people.
