Sheikh Qassem: Great Sacrifices Made in Palestine, Lebanon, Iran, Yemen, & Iraq Halted Zionist-American Project

The Secretary-General of Lebanese Hezbollah, Sheikh Naim Qassem, affirmed today, Friday, that there is an aggressive American-“Israeli” project to control and fragment the region, which Iran and the resistance forces are confronting, pointing out that the enemies have not missed any opportunity for aggression, but they have not and will not succeed in achieving their goals.

This came in a speech delivered by Sheikh Qassem at the central prophetic festival organized by Hezbollah in the Ashura courtyard in the southern suburb of Beirut, on the occasion of the anniversary of the birth of the Chosen Prophet Muhammad bin Abdullah (PBUH) and his grandson Imam Jaafar al-Sadiq (AS), and Islamic Unity Week, according to Al-Manar TV website, affiliated with the party.

Sheikh Qassem explained that the great sacrifices made in Palestine, Lebanon, Iran, Yemen, and Iraq have halted the Zionist-American project targeting the region.

He said: “We have sacrificed much and we will not lose. Loss occurs when we surrender and hand everything over to them, and they take everything.”

He pointed out that the Lebanese authority has chosen a path that does not honor Lebanon, by abandoning the November 27 agreement and entering into direct negotiations with the Israeli enemy, affirming that the honorable, the resistance fighters, the sacrificers, and their supporters from all sects are innocent of the authority’s concessions to the enemy. He posed a question to the authority: “Who authorized you to make concessions on sovereignty?”

The Hezbollah Secretary-General stated that the Lebanese authority’s negotiations did not stop the war but rather gave it legitimacy, and that it is a humiliating surrender to the enemy with no return. He added: “You make the country pay a price in negotiations to stay on your thrones and to appease America, which is complicit with ‘Israel.'”

He continued: “We do not want war, and evidence of this is our agreement to the November 27, 2024 agreement and our commitment to it. What is happening today is not a mutual war but a clear Israeli aggression that escalates and de-escalates, and had it not been for the (American-Iranian) memorandum of understanding, it would not have de-escalated.”

He affirmed that “Israel’s project is Greater Israel, and evidence of this is what is happening in Syria. And as I affirm that we remain in the field and will not accept the projects they speak of, I declare that we have broken the Greater Israel project and prevented it from reaching Beirut and from stripping Lebanon of its strength so that the enemy cannot touch it and settlements begin.”

He noted that the enemy today does not dare to establish a settlement in southern Lebanon because it is unstable with the presence of the resistance, and the “Israeli” does not dare to draw borders beyond the lands it has occupied because it fears the resistance, its people, and the free.

He added: “We are in a state of confrontation and we will remain steadfast. We accept the implementation of the November 27, 2024 agreement under the framework of Resolution 1701 and nothing else. We oppose the framework agreement and call for its annulment, as it is illegitimate, illegal, humiliating, destroys Lebanese sovereignty, and does not restore rights.”

Sheikh Qassem stressed that “whoever has this resistance, these sacrificing youth, and a people who sacrifice for their homeland cannot be defeated. ‘Israel’ cannot achieve achievements with the presence of the resistance, its people, the honorable, the martyrs, and the sacrifices. We are Karbalais in achieving our goals.”

He said: “The sacrifices of our people are great, and we will cooperate together for their dignity, continuity, social assistance, reconstruction, and restoration.”

In his speech, the Hezbollah Secretary-General addressed Islamic unity, affirming that “this unity is what leads to the strength of Muslims and achieves integration and cooperation among them, especially among countries and peoples. The intended Islamic unity is to liberate the nation from subordination and alienation, to confront sedition and sectarian, religious, and political barriers. The intended Islamic unity is to confront the American and Israeli fragmentation and dismantling projects aimed at breaking up our region. Unity is the orientation toward the true enemy of the nation and moving away from internecine conflicts.”

He added: “Islamic unity has two results: first, that we be united to prevent sedition, and that it extends to national and humanitarian unity. The second result we need is to be united around the central cause of Palestine, which represents the future of the entire region.”

He concluded: “It is time for our region to be secure through understanding among its countries and to put an end to arrogance.”
