Swedes protest against Israeli aggression on Gaza

Hundreds of people demonstrated in the Swedish capital, Stockholm, on Saturday, protesting Israel’s violation of the ceasefire agreement signed on October 10th and its continued attacks on the Gaza Strip, as well as the restrictions imposed on the entry of humanitarian aid.

According to Anadolu Agency, the demonstrators gathered in Odenplan Square in response to calls from several civil society organizations. They held banners that read: “Children are dying of hunger in Gaza,” “Stop the attacks on Gaza,” “Lift the food restrictions,” “Stop the attacks on Iran,” and “Israel must abide by the peace agreement.”

The protesters demanded an end to the Israeli occupation of the Gaza Strip and called on the Swedish government to halt arms sales to Israel.

The demonstrators carried Palestinian, Iranian, and Lebanese flags and called for an end to American and Israeli attacks on Iran.

With American and European support, the Israeli enemy army has committed genocide, siege, and starvation in the Gaza Strip for over two consecutive years since October 7, 2023. This has resulted in the deaths of 72,585 Palestinian civilians, the majority of whom are children and women, and injuries to 172,370 others to date—a toll that is not yet final, as thousands of victims remain under the rubble and in the streets, inaccessible to ambulance and rescue teams.

A ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip came into effect on October 10, 2020, following a two-year-long Zionist war of genocide. However, the Israeli enemy army continues to violate the agreement daily and still prevents the entry of most humanitarian aid into the Strip.
