Yemeni Military Expert: Drone, Missile Strikes Disrupt Saudi Military Build-ups

Yemeni military expert Brig. Gen. Mujib Shamsan said that repeated footage of strikes against Saudi military gatherings and vehicles across several fronts demonstrates the Yemeni Armed Forces’ growing capabilities, accumulated combat experience, and precision in targeting.

Speaking to Almasirah on Saturday, Shamsan highlighted the use of different generations of Rajum and Shawaz drones, noting their varying ranges and payload capacities. He said newer Rajum drones used on the Jizan and Najran fronts can carry around 14 projectiles.
He explained that the operations reflect an integrated military system combining intelligence gathering, monitoring enemy movements, and selecting appropriate weapons to strike targets accurately, including military vehicles, equipment, and troop concentrations.
Shamsan also pointed to the precision of drone-launched projectiles despite wind and air resistance, as well as the capabilities of Shawaz FPV drones and various guided and ballistic missiles.
He said that the Armed Forces employ different weapons according to target type, using tactical missiles against large troop concentrations, precision strikes against command centers and leadership meetings, and specialized munitions against fortified positions.
Regarding battlefield developments, Shamsan cited operations in eastern Al-Jawf, where he said Saudi-backed forces’ movements were disrupted, dozens of military vehicles were seized, and numerous others were destroyed.
He attributed these results to the development of Yemen’s intelligence infrastructure, which enables the Armed Forces to turn gathered information into precise targeting coordinates and strike critical military positions.
Shamsan added that the repeated strikes have undermined Saudi forces’ sense of security, creating psychological pressure even before engagements begin. He stressed that the documented operations reflect actual battlefield developments rather than merely psychological or media campaigns.
He concluded that the combination of intelligence capabilities, accumulated combat experience, and diverse tactical weapons has enabled Yemeni forces to counter large-scale military advances that have failed to achieve their objectives since the latest escalation.
Yemen’s military confrontation with the Saudi regime dates back to the Saudi-led aggression launched in March 2015, which involved airstrikes, a blockade, and repeated ground offensives by Saudi-backed forces.
Over the years, Yemeni forces have increasingly relied on drones, missiles, and intelligence operations to counter military advances and strike targets across the border. Sana’a presents these capabilities as part of a strategy to deter further aggression and respond to military escalation.
The latest developments come amid renewed tensions, with Yemeni officials maintaining that Saudi-backed advances have repeatedly failed to achieve their objectives despite years of military pressure.
