Yemen’s military media on Saturday released new footage showing locally manufactured “Shawaz” kamikaze drones targeting Saudi-affiliated forces at several positions in the operational zone adjoining the southwestern edge of Yemen’s western coast.
The footage shows the drones diving directly toward ground targets in Kahboub and Al-Wazi’iyah, including military vehicles and groups of personnel, both moving and stationary. The strikes took place in semi-open areas and locations covered with trees, with the footage documenting the drones’ approach to their targets and moments of impact.
The recordings highlight the “Shawaz” system’s role as an attack drone designed to strike field targets directly. They also show the drones tracking moving military vehicles before diving toward them.
The footage features multiple angles of targeted military vehicles, deployment points and troop concentrations across several locations, suggesting the system’s deployment across multiple operational fronts simultaneously.
The release marks the third operational appearance of the domestically manufactured “Shawaz” drones, amid escalating clashes and continued Yemeni military operations targeting Saudi-affiliated forces on several fronts.
The footage further depicts strikes against concealed military positions and fortified compounds, highlighting the drone’s ability to approach targets at low altitude and strike them directly.
The operations announced by the Yemeni Armed Forces represent a continuation of the Armed Forces’ military campaign against Saudi-backed forces across multiple fronts. The targeting of Saudi mobilizations in Al-Jawf, Marib, and Taiz reflects Yemen’s strategy of maintaining pressure on Saudi-backed forces and preventing them from regrouping or launching offensives.
