Ansarullah Condemns Israeli Strike on Rural Damascus, Calls for Unified Regional Response

The Political bureau of Ansarullah strongly condemned the“treacherous Zionist attack” on civilians in the town of Jann in the countryside of Damascus, an assault that resulted in dozens of casualties, including martyrs and wounded.

In an official statement, the Political bureau of Ansarullah said the strike represented a “flagrant violation of Syria’s sovereignty and an expansion of Israel’s ongoing occupation.” It praised the local Syrian residents for their “heroic resistance” against Israeli enemy forces, which reportedly led to injuries among the attacking troops and forced their retreat.

The statement reiterated that resistance remains the only effective deterrent to aggression, warning that any form of appeasement would only embolden Israel’s expansionist agenda across Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine.

Ansarullah affirmed Syria’s right to respond to the attack “using all available means,” stressing that disregard for historical lessons and the abandonment of the right to self-defense—guaranteed by international law and religious principles—would lead to “grave consequences.”

The group also urged Arab and Islamic governments to confront the “criminal Zionist offensive targeting the entire region—its geography, identity, and history.” The statement noted that the prevailing state of Arab weakness has encouraged the Israeli enemy to escalate its actions and impose new realities through military force and aggression.

At least 13 Syrian people have been killed and more than two dozen others injured in Israeli strikes on the countryside of the capital Damascus amid the occupying regime’s heightened incursions on the Arab country since the fall of former president Bashar al-Assad and the rule of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) militants.

The casualties, as the Syrian TV reported on Friday, took place in an overnight Israeli attack by helicopters and drones on the town of Beit Jinn in the Damascus suburbs after Israeli forces entered the town and were surrounded by local residents, prompting the outbreak of gunfire and confrontations.
