House of Representatives sends message to Saudi Regime: Reconsider your calculations, opt for peace instead of escalation
In a statement issued today, the House clarified that, stemming from the Yemeni people’s belief in the justice of their cause and the restoration of their legitimate rights, and in awareness of the national, constitutional, and legal responsibility entrusted to the duties and functions of the House of Representatives—the legitimate representative of the Yemeni people in preserving Yemen’s unity, security, stability, and national sovereignty over all Yemeni territory, waters, and islands—the House reminds regional and international public opinion of the criminal record of the Saudi-led aggression coalition.
It pointed to the systematic war crimes committed by the Saudi enemy against the Yemeni people and their capabilities, asking: “Who targeted civilian objects—the Great Hall massacre that claimed hundreds of martyrs and wounded, the repeated targeting of wedding halls and mourning councils in various governorates? Who targeted the children’s bus in Dahyan, Saada? Who targeted the blind residence in the capital Sana’a, and demolished citizens’ homes over the heads of their inhabitants—children, women, and the elderly?”
It also asked: “Who systematically destroyed the infrastructure and vital lifelines of the Yemeni people, bombing roads, bridges, drinking water wells, sewage networks, schools, mosques, service institutions, and factories?”
The House of Representatives delivered a serious message to the Saudi regime, calling on it to reconsider its calculations and opt for peace instead of escalation, saying: “Yemen is closer to you than those alliances you seek. It is wiser to apply reason and earnestly incline toward peace efforts by fulfilling all obligations incumbent upon you.”
It affirmed that the region’s security is an indivisible whole, and that Yemen is geographically and historically closer than all the external alliances you seek. It noted that reaching an agreement with Yemen is the safe choice.
It added: “Understanding with Yemen is better for the Saudi regime than begging for international alliances that it has already tried and proven to have failed. They are merely tools for blackmail and for entangling it in a proxy war in defense of the Zionist entity. The Saudi regime should benefit from living lessons, foremost among them the events in Ukraine, where Europe and America were unable to protect it or halt the war’s repercussions.”
The House of Representatives reiterated that the protection of the Saudi people and their land and sea interests is entirely contingent upon the Saudi regime’s immediate cessation of its aggressive policies toward Yemen and the improvement of its relations with its surroundings, considering that the sole and optimal path to enhancing the security and stability of the entire region.
It continued: “From this standpoint, and in fidelity to the sacrifices of our noble people’s sons and the blood of free martyrs, and to the historic, unprecedented million-man turnout in support of decisive options, breaking the siege, restoring usurped rights, and rejecting external guardianship and hegemony over the Yemeni people’s resources, the House of Representatives affirms from its constitutional seat in the capital Sana’a, in the name of the Yemeni people—the holders and original source of authority—its support and endorsement of all strategic directives and lines defined by the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Mujahid Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi (may God protect him).”
It also affirmed full authorization to take all necessary deterrent measures, options, and procedures—militarily, politically, economically, and security-wise—foremost among them establishing the equation of “siege with siege and confronting comprehensive escalation with comprehensive escalation,” until the aggression and aggressive policies cease, the unjust siege is broken, national resources and wealth are protected, and the Yemeni people’s entitlements that ensure a dignified life and independent political decision-making are met.
The House expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the Saudi regime’s support for America in launching strikes on the sisterly Republic of Iraq, considering that a flagrant violation of an independent Arab state’s sovereignty and a blatant transgression of international charters.
