Taiz Rights Network Condemns ‘Systematic Saudi Aggression’ on Hayfan
The Taiz Network for Rights and Freedoms (TNRF) has condemned the criminal military escalation and systematic aggressive operations launched by the aircraft of the aggression coalition led by the arrogant Saudi regime, which target infrastructure, civilian objects, and safe residential areas in Taiz province indiscriminately.
In a statement, the network affirmed that Taiz province is witnessing a dangerous escalation taking the form of collective punishment and random retaliation amid the field losses of the aggression forces.
It noted that targeting residential gatherings and unarmed civilians represents a flagrant and cruel violation of international humanitarian law and the principles of civilian protection.
The network’s field monitoring teams documented five aggressive Saudi airstrikes targeting Hayfan district in Taiz province, which hit vital civilian and educational objects. One airstrike targeted Al-Thawra School in Akboush area; a second targeted Makhadrah area in Al-Ka’awish village, Al-Ahkom isolation, causing severe damage to residential structures and property; and three airstrikes targeted Al-Abous isolation, one of which focused on Al-Adhair area, leading to the martyrdom of a civilian citizen from direct injury.
The network explained in its legal characterization that these attacks reveal a grave breach of the principles of distinction and necessity and constitute complete war crimes that do not expire with time.
It held the criminal Saudi regime fully criminally, morally, and legally responsible for these massacres, demanding an immediate halt to all airstrikes on civilian objects. It stressed the need for the United Nations and international organizations to move to open independent investigations and hold perpetrators of these violations accountable to ensure they do not escape punishment.
Six citizens, including two children and a woman, were martyred and eight others wounded, including a child and a woman, in Saudi enemy airstrikes on Al-Mokha in Taiz province. Saudi warplanes earlier today targeted Al-Adhair area in Al-Abous isolation, Hayfan district, with an airstrike that led to the martyrdom of one citizen.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, confirmed that the criminal Saudi enemy launched 157 airstrikes and missiles on Al-Jawf, Taiz, Saada, and Marib provinces during the day. He affirmed that this major aggression “will not pass without a response, God willing.”
