Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Iran does not have to choose between war and negotiation, stressing it “fights at the right time and negotiates at the right time.”
He said Iran can deter attacks on Beirut through both military response and diplomatic pressure, adding that battlefield gains and diplomacy support Iran’s regional position.
Ghalibaf stated Iran aims to end war and ensure lasting security, not normalize ties with the U.S., accusing Washington of not seeking a ceasefire or dialogue.
He also said Iranian forces remain fully prepared, warning that Iran would turn a U.S. naval blockade into a “defeat for the enemy.”
