Israeli authorities force Maqdaseyan to demolish home north of occupied al-Quds

Israeli enemy authorities on Saturday forced Rami al-Bakri, a Maqdaseyan resident, to demolish his own home on al-Zaytouna Street in Beit Hanina neighborhood, north of occupied al-Quds.

According to the Palestinian News Agency (Wafa), the al-Quds governorate reported that the Israeli municipality in al-Quds issued a demolition order for al-Bakri’s home, claiming it was built without a permit.

The Governorate stated that the house, measuring 35 square meters, consisted of a room, a kitchen, and a bathroom. Rami and his newlywed wife lived there. The Governorate confirmed that the house had been standing for eight years.

Al-Quds governorate indicated that the Israeli municipality notified al-Bakri of the demolition order approximately two weeks prior, forcing him to demolish his home himself to avoid additional costs, especially since he had already paid fines amounting to approximately 40,000 shekels, in addition to lawyer fees and the costs of initiating the licensing process.
