Military Expert: Yemeni and Iranian Deterrence Shattered US Hegemony, Trapped Israeli Enemy

Military and strategic affairs expert Brig. Gen. Mujib Shamsan said recent developments, from the aggression against Iran to the responses by the Axis of Resistance, reflect a strategic decline of the US-Western project and the rise of new deterrence equations established by resistance forces.

Shamsan stated advances in missile and drone capabilities have reshaped the regional balance of power, highlighting Yemen’s long-range operations and Iran’s recent response as evidence of growing resistance capabilities.
He argued that these developments have undermined efforts to integrate the Israeli enemy into the region through the Abraham Accords and shifted the strategic initiative toward the Axis of Resistance, which he said has moved from strategic patience to active deterrence.
Shamsan added that recent Iranian strikes exposed vulnerabilities in Israeli and US calculations, reinforced new red lines in the region, and signaled the emergence of a new phase of conflict marked by greater coordination among resistance forces across multiple fronts.
He concluded that the region is witnessing a reconfiguration of power balances, with traditional deterrence systems weakening and a new resistance model based on sustained attrition and multi-front pressure gaining momentum.
Tensions in the region have escalated amid continued Israeli military aggression in Gaza and repeated violations of ceasefire arrangements, alongside expanding cross-border confrontations involving regional actors.
Yemen has announced a ban on Israeli-linked maritime navigation in the Red Sea, framing it as part of its support for Palestine and Lebanon. The move comes in parallel with heightened exchanges between the Israeli enemy, Iran, and allied regional groups, as the conflict continues to spread across multiple fronts.
