Rezaei: We’ll not allow any third party to interfere in Strait of Hormuz

The military advisor to the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces, Mohsen Rezaei, affirmed that Iran will not allow any third party to interfere in the Strait of Hormuz.

Rezaei, in an interview with the Russian news agency Sputnik, as reported by the Iranian news agency Mehr on Tuesday, stated: “The Strait of Hormuz is a matter solely for Iran and Oman, and no third party has the right to interfere in the management of this strategic waterway.”

Rezaei added: “The Strait of Hormuz concerns only Iran and Oman, and we will not allow America or European countries to control the management of this strategic waterway.”

The Iranian military advisor also pointed to maritime traffic in the strait, saying: “Approximately 30 ships pass through the Strait of Hormuz daily, and Iran is prepared to accommodate a greater volume of maritime traffic.”

Rezaei concluded by emphasizing that “America is preventing the movement of some ships that were scheduled to sail in the pre-determined maritime routes.”
