Shipping traffic through Bab al-Mandab Retreat by 56% amid Yemeni warnings

The ship tracking company Kpler announced on Tuesday a 56% retreated in commercial shipping traffic through the Bab al-Mandab Strait, amid Yemeni warnings and the ongoing naval blockade imposed on Saudi Arabia.

Mehr News Agency quoted the Russian channel RT as saying that data released by the company showed a significant drop in commercial shipping traffic through the strait, attributing this to Yemeni warnings and the maritime measures taken in the region.

Earlier, the maritime information company Windward reported that crude oil loadings at the Saudi port of Yanbu had decreased by 40% since July 19. A Yemeni source confirmed the continuation of the ban on Saudi ships passing through the strait, emphasizing that the Yemeni armed forces would not allow any Saudi vessel to pass, in response to the blockade imposed by Riyadh on Yemen.
