Insan Organization: Targeting Al-Hazm market, Kameco factory is dangerous violation threatening civilians, national economy

The Insan Organization for Rights and Freedoms condemned the targeting by Saudi enemy aircraft of the central Al-Hazm market in Al-Jawf Governorate, which resulted in the martyrdom of 14 citizens, including three children and two women, and the injury of 15 others, affirming that the attack represents a flagrant violation of the freedom and security of civilians and civilian objects.

The organization warned in a statement of the dangerous repercussions resulting from targeting the “Kameco” paint manufacturing company in Taiz Governorate, given the threat it poses of an environmental catastrophe, in addition to the economic and humanitarian damage inflicted on about 500 families of workers at the factory.

It considered the targeting of markets and commercial and industrial facilities a dangerous escalation that affects the foundations of the economic life of the Yemeni people and doubles the daily suffering of citizens.

The organization held the Saudi regime fully responsible for the human losses and economic and environmental damage resulting from the aggression, stressing that the rules of international humanitarian law prohibit directing attacks against civilians and civilian objects and require distinction between military objectives and civilian facilities.

The Insan Organization demanded accountability for the perpetrators of these crimes, calling on the international community to break its silence and act seriously to ensure the protection of civilians and economic facilities in Yemen.
