Transport minister announces resumption of operations at Sana’a Intel airport after runway rehabilitation
Minister of Transport and Public Works Mohammed Qahim announced on Wednesday the full resumption of air traffic operations at Sana’a International Airport following the completion of repairs to damage caused by recent airstrikes carried out by the Saudi-led aggression.
Minister Qahim explained that the airport’s runways were rehabilitated according to approved technical specifications. This was accomplished through the efforts and supervision of a specialized engineering and technical team from the General Authority for Roads and Bridges, with the participation of Yemeni civil aviation experts from the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology in Sana’a.
He praised the tireless national efforts of the technical and engineering teams who began work immediately and completed it on schedule. He also reviewed the implementation steps for the maintenance and rehabilitation work, which was closely monitored by the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council.
Sana’a International Airport was subjected to air raids by the brutal Saudi aggression Monday, which led to damage to its runways.
Minister Qahim considered this a systematic and deliberate targeting that violates all international laws and conventions that protect civilian facilities.
