This came in a letter the Foreign Minister sent to UN General Assembly President Philomon Yang, UN Secretary-General António Guterres, UN Security Council President for August 2025 Eloy Alfaro de Alba, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk, and UN Human Rights Council President Jörg Lauber.
In the letter, Minister Amer asserted that the Israeli enemy entity committed full-fledged war crimes in its terrorist aggression on the capital, Sana’a, and held the United Nations responsible for direct complicity if its silence continued, which he described as a “green light” for the enemy.
The letter explained that Israeli enemy aircraft launched an aggression with more than forty high-explosive missiles yesterday afternoon, Monday, describing it as a “brutal show of force and organized state terrorism.”
It emphasized that the bombing directly targeted purely civilian objects, including the presidential palace and a vital fuel station, in addition to re-targeting Hezyaz power station, which constitutes a declaration of war on civilian life.
The Foreign Minister pointed out that the Zionist escalation stems from Yemen’s principled position in support of the Palestinian people.
Amer explained that the supporting military operations in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea are linked to a clear equation announced by the leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi: halting the aggression and completely lifting the blockade on the Gaza Strip in exchange for a cessation of Yemeni military operations.
He called on the United Nations to take immediate and decisive action by issuing an explicit international condemnation that considers the aggression a “war crime,” activating the powers of the Security Council under Chapter VII of the UN Charter, and forming an independent and impartial international investigation committee.
The letter considered the Zionist aggression a flagrant violation of the UN Charter and a blatant breach of the principles of international humanitarian law, including its emphasis on distinguishing between civilian and military targets and the prohibition of starvation of civilians.
It strongly criticized the deafening silence and double standards of UN bodies, warning that this dangerous inaction undermines the entire global order and paves the way for the dominance of the logic of force.
The Foreign Minister concluded the letter with a clear warning that the repercussions of any legitimate Yemeni response will not be limited to the enemy entity, but will inevitably extend to affect the interests of all parties providing political cover or material support for the Zionist aggression.
